Chocolate Mug Cake

This simple mug cake recipe is easy to make - the perfect dessert for one! 


¼ cup all-purpose flour 

2 tablespoons cocoa powder 

¼ teaspoon baking powder 

2 tablespoons powdered sugar 

⅛ teaspoon salt 

¾ cup plant-based milk of choice 

2 tablespoons vegetable oil 

1 tablespoon plant-based chocolate chips 


  1. To start, mix together dry ingredients. Then add plant-based milk and vegetable oil and mix well until the batter is fully mixed without clumps.
  2. Pour half of your batter into a microwave-safe mug, then add a layer of mini chocolate chips, next, top with the remaining batter, leaving room for your cake to expand in the microwave. 
  3. Cook your cake for 1.5 minutes. Cook times may vary, based on the appliance, so check your cake is cooked through. Allow cooling. Top with more chocolate chips, berries, and more - enjoy!
