Phil co-founded the Plantfusion Brand in 2009. Phil also grew up in the natural products industry, working in his family owned and operated natural products store in New Jersey.  Having crossed paths with Greg Cooper, they shared their frustration over the unmet need for authentic plant-based products that tasted great.  This sparked a never ending obsession to develop authentic plant-based, nutrient dense, allergen free products that delight the senses. With breakthrough products and a growing awareness around what used to be obscure nutritional concerns, people began to take notice and PlantFusion was born.

Greg, a 40 year veteran of the Natural Food Industry, began his career working the floors of his family’s health food stores. This experience formulated his fundamentals in nutrition. At an early age, his mentor and father taught him to listen to the customer, they will teach you. As an undersized athlete, Greg played football in college. He relied on protein supplements for strength and size. He also knew that powdered milk (Whey) proteins, derived from cows, were a problem not a solution. Many of his customers were using plant proteins because they were intolerant to dairy. Whey is an allergen to most that disrupts digestion. However, whey does provide a full range of amino acids, an attribute that appealed and which plant proteins, at the time, lacked. Because of this, Greg set out to create the first plant-based protein with a “complete” amino acid profile. This became “PlantFusion Complete Protein”.
